I saw this amazing looking tutorial that turns someones face into a galaxy. To do this you need to get the face on its own with the lasso tool. Then use the threshold setting to make the face a simple black and white. Then add the galaxy as a layer, and hold alt and click to create a clipping mask.
So we were assigned to write a limerick for any teacher for teacher appreciation week. So I made one for Ms. Rodkey. The limerick is about how I feel when i'm i Spanish class. So there it is. I made the text the same way I did the portrait above. Two layers with a clipping mask.
The JK that you can see to the left was really fun to make. The hardest part was that I had to manually cut out both letters and make them look good. In the tutorial he uses a CE so I made the design on my own. Then I used a clipping mask for the galaxy. And lastly, a inner and outer shadow.
So I am starting to use illustrator. I needed to start off with using a simple text effect. This one uses circles with heavy strokes cut at anchor points to make other letters. I'm obviously not done but this is what I will work on next week. This has been a really hard project for me because I don't know illustrator.
